The Minnesota Vikings acquired backup quarterback Nick Mullens from the Las Vegas Raiders in exchange for a conditional seventh-round pick in 2024.

Mullens will compete for the No. 2 quarterback spot behind Kirk Cousins with second-year player Kellen Mond and veteran Sean Mannion.

Mannion, who has thrown 110 passes as a backup in the NFL in seven seasons, also struggled to move the ball against the 49ers.

Kwesi Adofo-Mensah, the Vikings' general manager, has worked with Mullens in both San Francisco and Cleveland.

Stidham was a backup quarterback in New England for three seasons before following coach Josh McDaniels to Las Vegas this offseason.

The Vikings announced the agreement on Monday and stated that it will be finalized once Mullens passes a physical. The Raiders will receive the 2024.

This preseason, Mond and Mannion have split time with Cousins sitting out. Mond, the Vikings' third-round pick in 2021, threw two touchdown passes in the team's exhibition opener.
