Senior football sources informed AFP on Wednesday that the opening match of this year’s World Cup in Qatar will be moved ahead by one day to November 20.
According to the sources, FIFA and the Qatari organizers have agreed to the adjustment.
According to the current schedule, Senegal and the Netherlands will play the opening game on November 21, followed by Qatar and Ecuador later that day.
FIFA is thinking of starting the World Cup finals a day earlier.
