According to West Ham United manager David Moyes, an offer has been made to acquire Brazilian attacking midfielder Lucas Paqueta from French club Olympique Lyonnais.
According to The Athletic, West Ham reportedly made a 40 million euro ($39.93 million) offer to Lyon for Paqueta, who scored nine goals and provided six assists in 35 Ligue 1 appearances last season.
The day before their Europa Conference League playoff second leg against Viborg, Moyes informed reporters, “I’ll not talk about him but I can tell you that we have bid for him.”
He is capable of playing as a number 10, an eight, and a false nine rather frequently for Brazil. Moyes confirms bid for Lyon’s Paqueta. His pedigree is excellent, in my opinion.
Although pedigree is not always a guarantee that something would succeed, one would hope that it contributes to his perhaps getting better.
Emerson Palmieri, a defender from Chelsea, became West Ham’s eighth acquisition of the summer on Tuesday. However, Moyes claimed that the club had difficulty bringing in their transfer targets because players did not view the team as a “biggie.”
“We’ve been saying that one player is all we need to become a top-six squad. That is the challenge we have had this season “says Moyes.
