After suffering a hamstring injury during Juventus’ embarrassing loss to Maccabi Haifa. The struggling team announced on Thursday that Angel Di Maria will be out for roughly three weeks.

Juve stated in a statement that tests Di Maria had on Thursday “indicated a low-grade injury to the right hamstring.”

The midfielder would need about 20 days to fully heal, according to Juve.

23 minutes into Juventus’ shocking 2-0 loss in Israel. Which put them in danger of being eliminated from the Champions League, Argentina winger Di Maria was replaced.

Following a defeat that prompted both coach Massimiliano Allegri and president Andrea Agnelli to express they were embarrassed of the club, Juventus is currently third in group H and five points behind second-place Benfica with two games remaining.

The 34-year-old has already missed two games due to injury after signing as a free agent in the summer and was scheduled to return to Serie A action after serving a two-match suspension.

He won’t be available for Juventus’ final group games against Benfica and league-leading Paris Saint-Germain.

On Saturday, Juve, which is also 10 points behind of Serie A leaders Napoli, will visit their nearby rivals Torino.
