What are some of the most popular items sold at JD Sports stores around the world?

JD Sports is a global sportswear and footwear chain that sells sports equipment and clothing. The company currently has 7,358 stores in 32 countries worldwide, making it the biggest sports retailer in Europe. David Janssen opened its first store in 1979 in Northallerton, North Yorkshire.

According to Bloomberg Businessweek, JD Sports Ltd is “the most prominent of a new generation of retailers which seem to be struggling to find their place among online shopping. In the year ended Feb. 28, 2016, JD reported sales of £2.89 billion and an operating loss of £265 million.”

While JD Sports is no longer considered a “hot stock,” there are still plenty of reasons to shop at their stores. The following are some of the most popular items sold at their stores:

1.) Air Jordan basketball shoes

The Air Jordan basketball shoe is widely considered one of the most infamous and well-known basketball shoes in the world. This shoe was first introduced in 1985 and has been on the market ever since. It has become a global icon, with many styles resellable by third parties.

It was even used as a prop in the movie Space Jam, where it gets its name (Air Jordan nickname). The shoes have been popular with young people interested in sports and the common person alike, as they were an accessible medium for both to get involved.

“You can see the joke in the film,” Jordan said of the sneaker’s appearance. “I’m shooting a half-court shot, and a kid is passing by. [It looks like] I’ve got two hands, and he’s passing me the ball.” The shoes have been worn by other athletes, such as Kobe Bryant and Michael Jordan himself (as well as many others).

Over the past few years, however, sales of these shoes have started to drop. In 2015, there was a drop in sales of over 7% from the previous year.

2.) Nike shoes

One of the most well-known athletic companies on Earth is also one of the most popular to shop at. Nike is known as “the swoosh” and is often associated with sports, such as running, basketball, and football (soccer). Except for running shoes, these other two categories have been impacted by the popularity of alternatives to Nike’s products.

While it may be true that Nike is losing its grip on the basketball and soccer markets, its shoes continue to be popular. For example, the Nike Air Jordan shoe has steadily been one of the most popular items sold at JD Sports.

3.) Puma shoes

The Puma shoe is a football shoe that was introduced in 1948 to coincide with the company’s creation. These are also considered iconic products, having withstood the test of time and market change. Puma shoes have been worn by numerous football players, including Lionel Messi and David Beckham.

4.) Adidas shoes

The Adidas shoe has also been popular with athletes, as well as sneakerheads who are interested in fashion. While Adidas was less popular in the basketball and soccer markets when compared to Nike, it has taken some of the market shares away from that competitor. In 2004, they sold 50 million pairs of shoes and generated revenues of $6 billion.

5. Reebok shoes

The Reebok shoe company was founded in 1966 as a merger between two other companies. In the 1980s, they began to make a name for themselves in the athletic equipment industry, with Reebok being especially popular. The Reebok shoe became associated with the cross-training lifestyle, which is why the brand has been successful since its inception.

6. New Balance shoes

New Balance is another well-known athletic brand associated with sports and popular with shoe enthusiasts. This brand was founded in 1906 and had been creating a wide range of shoes since then. They have a reputation for being exceptionally comfortable, which makes them ideal for athletic use. The company creates both for men and women but is especially well-known for its men’s collection. They are sold at specialty sporting goods stores, such as Foot Locker.

7. Converse shoes

Another brand that has become well-known in athletic products is Converse, which is known for its shoes and apparel. Converse was founded in 1908 and had been creating footwear since then. Converse shoes have gained popularity among athletes and sneakerheads because of their originality and durability. These shoes are perfect for everyday use and are commonly seen at gyms, such as a Lululemon store.

8. Le Coq Sportif shoes

Le Coq Sportif is a French brand based in the town of Saint-Quentin. They are known for making shoes for basketball and football. The company was founded in 1882, which makes it one of the oldest brands on this list. Their shoes have been worn by Cristiano Ronaldo, Dwight Howard, Chris Paul, and more.

9.) Joma shoes

Joma is another Spanish brand known for its football (soccer) footwear. They are particularly known for their casual shoes sold at Foot Locker. They have a massive selection of shoes and have been around since 1894.

10.) Adidas UltraBoost shoes

The Adidas UltraBoost shoe is a running shoe that has become especially popular among runners due to its lightweight design. While the yellow and black design of these shoes is often associated with basketball or soccer, it has been worn by many runners across the globe. The Boost technology has made them extra lightweight and more comfortable than their predecessor.

11. Fila shoes

Fila is a well-known sports brand that was founded in 1949. They are widely considered the “original” athletic brand because they were the first company to make sneakers in the United States. The women’s version of this shoe is particularly popular – sold at Foot Locker and other specialty shops, such as Dick’s Sporting Goods.

12. Adidas NMD shoes

The Adidas NMD sneaker is one of the most popular styles. Although they were released just a few months ago, they are already becoming popular among sneakerheads. The shoe was created as part of the Adidas Yung-1 collaboration with designer Jeremy Scott. The shoe has been known to be comfortable and lightweight, making them ideal for any athlete who wears them.

13. Nike Cortez shoes

The Cortez shoe is another running shoe that has recently become popular among runners. The shoe’s design was based on the traditional running style of the Brazilian soccer player Ronaldinho Gaúcho. The shoes are available in both men’s and women’s versions, with a range of colors including camo, navy blue, white, black, and red. The color scheme resembles that of Miami-based sports team FC Miami City SC, whose official colors are pink and orange.

14. Fila shoes

The Fila brand has been another well-known sports brand in the market for over 40 years. These shoes have long been popular among athletes but are also known as some of the most comfortable running shoes on the market. Since they are not specifically designed for athletics, they are regularly worn during casual sporting activities and fitness classes.

15. Reebok Shoes

Reebok is a well-known athletic brand that has become especially popular among runners and basketball players. While they were one of the first companies to become associated with running back in the 1970s, they are now known worldwide as one of the most popular brands in the athletic footwear industry. They are famous for their signature shoes that feature arch support, like the Reebok Men’s ZPump Fusion and Women’s ZPump Fusion.

Many association football clubs, players, and organizations use JD Sports as their official supplier and sponsor. Sponsorship agreements with AFC Bournemouth, Charlton Athletic, Dundee United, Blackpool, Luton Town, and Oldham Athletic were announced by JD Sports in August 2008.
