Dwayne Bravo establishes a record

Dwayne Bravo, a versatile player with the Northern Superchargers, is the first player in T20 cricket history with 600 wickets. He accomplished the legendary feat on August 11 while competing in the Men’s Hundred 2022 against the Oval Invincibles.

Before the encounter versus Oval, Bravo had 598 wickets in the shortest format of the game. He bowled all 20 of his allocated overs for the Oval Invincibles, finishing with a stat line of 2/29.

Bravo’s 600th T20 wicket came from Sam Curran, and Rilee Rossouw recorded his 599th. Bravo caught Rossouw in front of his stumps, and the seasoned Caribbean bouncer sent Curran out.

Despite Bravo‘s potent spell, the Northern Super Chargers were unable to defeat the Oval Invincibles on this particular day. Oval won by three wickets thanks to Sam Curran’s 60 from 39 balls.

Earlier in the day, the Oval Invincibles, who won the toss, chose to field first. The opening batsman’s 33-ball 79 helped the Northern Superchargers finish with 157 runs in their 100 total deliveries. Sunil Narine bowled an excellent session of 3/11 for the Invincibles.

The big accomplishment of Dwayne Bravo was eclipsed by Sam Curran’s bravery:

Oval, which was seeking 158 for win, recovered after collapsing to 21/3 thanks to a 67-run combination between Sam Curran and Jordan Cox. In just 39 pitches, Curran scored 60 runs by adopting an offensive posture. In his knock, he struck five sixes and two fours.

Despite the Northern Superchargers’ quick sequence of three wickets in the last overs, Tom Curran’s brilliant seven-ball 18* prevented them from victory. Sam won the Man of the Match award thanks to his game-winning hit.
